Our board members are dedicated leaders committed to strengthening our community. In this section, you'll learn more about what inspires Krystal to serve on the United Way of Reno County board and her vision for the future of our organization.
What motivates you to serve on the board of United Way of Reno County?
I'm motivated by the belief that real, lasting change happens when a community works together. United Way brings people, resources, and organizations to the same table, and serving on the board allows me to help guide that collective effort. I see it as a meaningful way to give back and to help ensure that support reaches people where it can make the greatest difference.
What’s one local cause or issue in Reno County that you're particularly passionate about?
I'm especially passionate about helping individuals and families achieve stability, whether that's through access to education, basic needs, or pathways to financial security. When people have a stable foundation, it strengthens not just individual households, but the entire community.
What do you believe is the biggest impact that United Way can have in our community?
United Way's greatest impact is its ability to connect the dots. By convening nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders, United Way helps turn good intentions into coordinated action. That collaborative approach leads to smarter solutions and more sustainable outcomes for Reno County.
What’s your favorite way to spend a Saturday in Reno County?
My favorite Saturdays are spent enjoying what makes Reno County feel like home, my family and friends. Whether it is a community event, a sporting event, or just time to connect, it's a reminder that Reno County is a community worth investing in.
What’s a moment or experience during your time with United Way that has left a lasting impression on you?
What's stayed with me most is seeing how many lives are touched through United Way's work—often in ways that aren't immediately visible. Hearing about the ripple effects of funded programs and partnerships reinforces how important it is to stay committed to long-term, community-driven solutions.
How do you like to give back to your community outside of your role with United Way?
Beyond United Way, I try to give back by supporting and serving local ogranizations, volunteering when possible, and being engaged in community efforts that help Reno County continue to grow and thrive.
