For 90 years, United Way of Reno County has brought people together to tackle our community’s toughest challenges and create lasting change. By uniting donors, volunteers, nonprofits, businesses, and local leaders, we address the root causes of challenges in youth opportunity, healthy communities, financial security, and basic needs. Through strategic investments, partnerships, and programs that make a difference, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive Reno County where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

HOW WE SHOW UP IN COMMUNITY
We show up in our community in three ways: investing in local partners, leading programs that fill critical gaps, and uniting people to create lasting change. Through these efforts, we address immediate needs while tackling the root causes of our community’s most complex challenges. Our goal is to strengthen Reno County and create opportunities for everyone to thrive.
Invest in Local Partners
We invest in local nonprofit partners and programs that address critical community needs and create opportunities across our four focus areas. Through strategic investments and collaboration, we strengthen the network of services that support individuals and families while working toward lasting, community-wide impact.
Lead Programs
We lead and deliver community-based programs that fill critical gaps, connect individuals and families to resources, and create opportunities for long-term success. Through initiatives like Reno Connections and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, we help strengthen families and build a more connected, thriving community.
Unite For Change
We unite people, organizations, businesses, and community leaders to address complex challenges and create lasting, systemic change. By fostering collaboration, building partnerships, and bringing diverse voices to the table, we work to strengthen the systems that shape opportunities and improve lives across Reno County.
OUR HISTORY
In 1936, community leaders came together to create a Community Chest fundraising campaign with a simple idea: we can accomplish more together than any one of us can alone. For nine decades, that belief has guided our work as our community has navigated changing times, challenges, and needs. Today, that spirit lives on through the donors, volunteers, businesses, nonprofits, and community partners who continue to show up for one another.
As we celebrate 90 years of supporting our community and 50 years as United Way, we're honoring our past while looking toward the future. The challenges may have changed, but our belief remains the same: by bringing people together, we can build a stronger community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
