Community Work Day Brings Neighbors Together - And Gets Things Done!

Reno County showed up in a big way for UWRC’s Spring 2026 Community Workday—and it made a real difference for area residents.

For this Spring Work Day event, UWRC opened nominations up for potential service projects to be submitted by residents on behalf of someone they knew in need or themselves to receive help. Thanks to an incredible turnout of 250 volunteers—representing 19 local organizations and several family groups —17 projects were completed during the four-hour event.

Many of the projects centered on yard cleanup needs, including the removal of tree limbs and brush. Other projects included exterior painting, debris hauling and even the construction of a ramp to help improve accessibility for a local resident who uses a wheelchair.
