Observing Mental Health Awareness Day in Our Community
On Friday, October 10, we observed Mental Health Awareness Day—a time to reflect on the importance of mental health and the collective efforts needed to support our community. In Reno County, Kansas, the need for mental health resources is pressing. With a suicide rate of 22.6 per 100,000 residents, higher than the state average of 18.3, and 16.5% of adults reporting poor mental health for 14 or more days, it's clear that mental health challenges are a significant concern.
United Way of Reno County (UWRC) is dedicated to addressing these challenges by investing in local programs that provide prevention, education, and support.
