Shared Purpose Builds a Stronger Community
One of my favorite parts of this job is getting a front-row seat to what's happening across Reno County.
Some days, that looks like sitting around a conference table with nonprofit leaders working through a challenge together. Other days, it's visiting with a business that's already thinking about how they can engage their employees during this year's United Way campaign. It might be watching volunteers brainstorm new ways to support local families or meeting with community partners who are willing to try something different because they believe we can do better together.
When you string all of those moments together, you start to see something bigger.
You see momentum.
Not the kind that comes from one big announcement or one organization solving every problem. The kind that's built through hundreds of conversations, partnerships, and people who keep showing up because they care about this community.
That's what gives me hope.
Over the past several months, we've welcomed new team members, worked alongside our funded partners as they prepare for another year of serving our community, continued conversations around early childhood, financial stability, and mental health, and begun planning for another United Way campaign. While each of those efforts looks different, they all point in the same direction: creating a stronger Reno County where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
As campaign season approaches, I'm reminded that our work has never been about simply raising dollars. It's about bringing people together around a shared purpose. Every gift, every volunteer hour, every workplace campaign, and every conversation helps move our community forward.
Thank you for continuing to be part of that momentum. It is a privilege to do this work alongside so many people who believe that when we work together, we can accomplish far more than any one of us could alone.
