Spark Tank 2025 Ignites Bold Ideas and Community Impact
United Way of Reno County celebrated bold ideas and big hearts at Spark Tank 2025, a first-of-its-kind live event that showcased innovative nonprofit projects and fueled new opportunities for change in our community.
The evening kicked off with energy and excitement, featuring a drumline entrance, music from DJ Nick of 620, and interactive elements like a Wish Wall and photo booth for attendees. Hosts Amy Bretz and Chucc Crumble guided the crowd through the night with humor and enthusiasm, spotlighting the spirit of community engagement that Spark Tank represents.
Four finalist nonprofits presented their ideas to a panel of distinguished judges—Daniel Friesen (IdeaTek), Sheila Regehr (Dillons), and Mike King (Lumineo Signs)—and an audience empowered to cast votes for the People’s Choice Award. Each organization received funding to help bring their vision to life, with the audience’s votes determining an additional $1,500 grant.
The winning nonprofits were:
🏆 1st Place & People’s Choice: Food Bank of Reno County
🏆 2nd Place: Milestone Clubhouse
🏆 3rd Place: Wisdom In Motion
🏆 4th Place: Rise Up Reno Prevention Network
United Way CEO Lacey Mills emphasized the event’s mission: “Spark Tank is more than an event—it’s a celebration of community, of big ideas, and of the bold belief that together, we can create lasting change.” The night also featured a Mission Drive, raising funds to continue supporting innovative local programs.
Spark Tank 2025 was made possible by generous sponsors, including ProValue Insurance (Presenting Sponsor), IdeaTek (Ignition Sponsor), First National Bank, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, O2 Box Midwest, Kraft Electric, Inc., and ONEOK, Inc. Their support ensures that United Way can continue connecting people, resources, and ideas to solve the community’s most pressing challenges.
The event concluded with a dessert reception and a chance for attendees to meet the nonprofits, reinforcing the message that lasting change happens when community members come together to support bold ideas.
Spark Tank Live 2025 has set a high bar for future events, demonstrating how creativity, collaboration, and community investment can ignite real impact across Reno County.
