Director of Reno Connections

What is your current role at United Way of Reno County, and what are your primary responsibilities?

As the Director of Reno Connections, I have the privilege of leading an incredible team dedicated to strengthening connections and expanding access to resources throughout our community. My role focuses on growing the program, building meaningful partnerships, increasing our capacity to serve, and ensuring we continue to meet people where they are with compassion, respect, and hope.

What previous work experiences have shaped your career, and how did they lead you to United Way?

Helping others has been at the heart of my career for most of my adult life. I began working in healthcare as a CNA, CMA, and Medical Assistant before finding my passion in the substance use disorder field. Through my work as both a peer support professional and later as the director of a treatment center, I gained a deep appreciation for the power of lived experience, human connection, and recovery. Those experiences strengthened my commitment to walking alongside people as they navigate challenges and inspired me to continue serving our community through United Way, where we work to create opportunities for every person to thrive.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work, and what activities do you enjoy with your family?

Outside of work, you'll usually find me spending quality time with my family. We love being outdoors, staying active, and making the most of every opportunity to enjoy life together. Whether we're exploring outside or simply sharing a meal, those moments help keep me grounded and connected to what matters most.

What hobbies or interests do you have that help you maintain a work-life balance?

I enjoy meal prepping, staying active, and spending time outdoors with my family. Taking care of my health and making time for the people I love helps me recharge and brings balance to both my personal and professional life.
